Within the project, an extensive database of indicators was created in order to quantify the environmental performance of European economies. The indicators were inserted into an integrated environmental-economic model GINFORS for trend prediction with respect to the possibilities of a shift towards sustainable development.

Project description
The MOSUS project aims to integrate three major themes of European policies within a macroeconomic, multi-sectoral framework representing the interrelation of economic, social and environmental domains. These policy themes are:
• Sustainable development,
• Competitiveness and social cohesion in the knowledge-based society and
• Globalisation and international trade.
This it seeks to achieve, in particular, through evaluating the consumption of raw materials in Europe using the analysis and indicators of material flows, energy flow analysis, assessment of land use and greenhouse gas emissions. The project sets out scenarios for sustainable development and analyzes the environmental, economic and social impacts of key environmental measures and instruments, such as the fiscal reform and reform of the subsidy policy, tradable permits, environmental agreements, rules of foreign trade, etc.
Within the MOSUS project,a comprehensive database of environmental indicators to quantify the environmental performance of European economies is created, which will help to clarify the interaction of these indicators in the scheme "Driving Force-Pressures-Environmental Impact". These indicators are inserted into an integrated ecological-economic model that is used for predictions of future socio-economic development and the state of the environment in Europe with regard to the possibility of transition to sustainable development.
Within the project, CUEC contributes to the data collection on domestic used and do unused extraction in Europe, Asia and North America, and to the predictions of future developments in Europe from an environmental perspective.
