CUEC coordinates UNDP project in Kosovo:
Transfer of Czech Experience: Developing Kosovo Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory Management System
National greenhouse gas inventory systems represent an essential step in efforts to meeting the priorities of the United Nations in the field of climate protection. Kosovo as a newly emerging countriy under UN administration intends to participate in this effort. The two-year project is to support the introduction of a national inventory system in Kosovo, similarly as in countries that have ratified the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
CUEC is the main carrier of the project under its guidance work team of experts from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute and the Institute of Forest Ecosystem Research, using many years of experience in implementing similar systems in Czech Republic. The Kosovo project will prepare manual inventory system and develop the national emission inventory for the last two years. At the same time local experts who will be able to continue the work will be trained.
