The Spring School event on “Environmental Economics and Consumer Choices” was organized in Novém Šaldorfě as part of the project H2020 GEMCLIME and PRIMUS REGEC. The event, which took place on May 29-31, 2020, was attended by twenty students, junior and senior research fellows, who came to present and discuss their research.
Researchers from the Charles University Environment Center, Iva Zvěřinová (literature review) and Martin Kryl (using GIT for academic work), presented scientific work tools at the beginning of seminar sessions. Students Alicia Berrios (NMBU, Norway), Lydia Chikumbi (UCT, South Africa), Klára Hanusová (IES) and Nick Tyack (IHEID, Switzerland) were focused on consumer choices in the consumption of environmental goods. Joselyne Aikowe (CZU) and Michaela Preclíková (IES) aimed at resource economics and transport mode use, while Levan Bezhanishvili (IES) addressed in his presentation the impacts of climate change on tourism, and Mehrab Ghanbari and Josef Švec (IES) talked about energy-saving modelling. Finally, Jean-Francois Auger (IES) concluded by how to prepare effective presentations of research results. In the practical part, seminar participants spent time to learn more about the technology of organic wine production.
