TA ČR RoDoMi (TAČR 01/2025–12/2027)
Evaluation of the reasonably achievable levels of noise reduction in transport
The project will develop a framework for evaluating the effectiveness of noise reduction measures on road and rail infrastructure, focusing on "reasonably achievable reduction levels" (RDM).
Project period: 01/2025–12/Ű
Financial support: TAČR - project no. CL02000043
Project description: We will employ applied research methods, i.e. questionnaire survey, noise modelling, and validation measurements, to analyze the impact of noise on welfare and compare it to the mitigation costs. This will enable the assessment of noise reduction measures in evaluations of individual infrastructure projects using a robust RDM framework. We aim to bridge the gap in Czech law that mandates RDM but gives no guidance or best practices. The project will also establish criteria for determining when noise reduction measures are still necessary and when they become an inefficient use of public finances.
