Project description

The project contributes to the availability of material and energy flow indicators for official reporting in the Czech Republic and for reporting obligations of the Czech Republic towards international organizations. Particular sub-tasks of the project are selected in a way that fully exploits potential of material and energy flow indicators for monitoring interlinkages between environment, economy and society and to deal with ambiguous methodological issues related to the compilation and interpretation of these indicators.

The particular sub-tasks of the project will focus on:

1) Update of time series of material and energy flow indicators,

2) Calculation of material and energy flow indicators for economic sectors,

3) Structural decomposition analysis of these indicators,

4) Calculation of physical stocks and estimation of future waste flows for city level,

5) Analysis of time trends of material and energy flow indicators, and

6) Monitoring of international development and reporting obligations in this field.
