Description

GEMCLIME focuses on energy economics and climate change. It covers the drivers of climate change, the examination of climate change and energy-related risks and vulnerabilities, the valuation of economic impacts of climate change mitigation and adaptation policies, and the investigation of major policy responses to global climate and energy challenges. The project follows an integrated approach to modelling the impacts of climate and energy policies. Researchers pay attention to the economics of renewable energies and the valuation of non-marketed goods. The results contribute to advances in fundamental economics and have applications to science-based policies.

GEMCLIME supports international transfers of knowledge and scientific networking between top-ranked research institutions in the world. Researchers from beneficiary institutions of the European Union are seconded to institutions in Australia, Canada, Chile, New Zealand South Africa, Singapore and the United States. These scientists are senior research fellows, professors, early-career academics and doctoral students. They come primarily from economics, but also other disciplines that deal with energy and climate.

GEMCLIME has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 681228. It reflects only the organizers view. The European Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.
